UNIVERSITAT OBERTA DE CATALUNYA
The second ME, held at the end of the second PR (Descriptive Report on Teacher Training Needs) and within the first phase of the production of the Guidance Tool (PR3), had three specific objectives. This ME was organized by UOC and was held in Barcelona.
The first was to distill the lessons learnt from the first PR: a selection of good practices were presented and discussed in the light of the theoretical framework for teacher education to support effective professional development and the good practice elements (GPEs) that emerged from the analysis of the practice documentation.
The second was to present the research activity on the training needs of teachers in relation to four main competence areas: creativity, inclusiveness, didactic innovation, digitally enhanced teaching and learning (PR2). The event also aimed to provide feedback on the focus groups the research team held with primary and secondary school teachers.
Based on good practices and teachers’ needs, the third objective was to discuss the implications for the design of the HUB self-assessment guide (PR3). A HUB Co-Ideation Workshop on the Self-Assessment Guide was held.
The main target groups were teachers and teacher education institutions who were invited to discuss the analytical report on good practices and intervention models for teacher education (PR1) and the descriptive report (PR2) and to contribute to the development of the next PRs. Attention was paid to the planning of training in virtual environments, which will be particularly relevant for PR3 and especially PR4. The UOC invested its experience and involved its network with the other partners.
Comments and suggestions received at the event were used to revise the descriptive report (PR2) and the Self-Assessment Guide (PR3). Participants were offered the opportunity to contribute to the evaluation of the future development of the project and to be involved in its implementation and dissemination.
